It's compatible with the PC version of MS Office and Photoshop, so that was probably the main thing. I have some very good friends who were able to hook me up with all the software I needed, and I'm sure my friends would have no objections to me helping you get set up if you needed to (but you didn't hear that from me *wink wink, nudge nudge*)

For me, the transition has been fairly seamless. I just need to seriously organize my iTunes! The only reason I am concerned about Windows vs OSX is the fact that I use my laptop for work and I wouldn't want to deal with programs that only run on PCs versus Macs and all the annoying hassle that entails.

Not that other people don't have Macs, I know plenty who do. And they do all manage to function just fine. I guess I'll just cross the what-computer-to-get-next bridge when I come to it. =)Adriennehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17677671017557368426noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7918902.post-25636198273216318712008-06-05T14:20:00.000-05:002008-06-05T14:20:00.000-05:00I'm not running Windows on my Mac, and have gotten...I'm not running Windows on my Mac, and have gotten used to OSX already. It's really not all that different. I was kinda scared about Vista too, so I'm glad I didn't have to deal with that. And feel free to ask questions - I may not know the answer, but can probably Google an answer for you : )Karenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15877013222075908943noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7918902.post-58070353115917094232008-06-04T21:35:00.000-05:002008-06-04T21:35:00.000-05:00Yay, yarn! So if I decide to make The Switch in the future (my current Melvin is 5.5 years old, and I'm afraid that he's going to keel over and die someday soon, especially since I need to lug him back and forth to and from the lab EVERY DAY (which sucks a lot, to say the least)), I'll have someone to ask questions of, yes? =) Are you doing the running-Windows-on-the-Mac thing, or no? Mostly I'm sort of scared of the idea of Vista, since I know of nobody who actually likes it.

I haven't knit a BSJ yet, but I have some lovely Koigu all wound up for just that purpose. I thought about knitting one using the Sophie's Toes Magic Ball, but decided it would look better as the scarf. Someday soon....

You are a much less selfish knitter than I. One of my coworkers is about to have a baby (like, next week) and I can't even bring myself to knit a pair of booties or anything. I guess I have more issues regarding knitting-for-others. =)Adriennehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17677671017557368426noreply@blogger.com
