Hooray for me! I finished Jamie's slippers! I actually finished them about a week ago, but I was slow in putting pictures up.
They're made out of Mission Falls cotton, which has unfortunately been discontinued. I used two strand held together to make them because the yarn itself was a little too thin. I think they turned out pretty well, and Jamie has since told me that he's going to hold off on any more requests for a while. ^_^ Which is good for me because then I can concentrate on my own projects. My progress on the Clapotis has been horribly slow. I'm still stuck in that section where you have to do 12 sets of that 12 row pattern in the 'straight' section. I think it's section 3 or something like that.
As for me, I think I will have to be horrible and not knit any gifts for anyone this year. I simply don't have the time. Work is blowing up in my face and I am finding my knitting time just keeps getting eaten up by it. Unless anyone has requests...If you request a knitted present and tell me what you want and what colour, I'm happy to do it...my brain is just too tired to try and figure out what sorts of things people might want. So, Sailors, if you're reading this at all, you are welcome to make requests! (ha ha...though I have a feeling that Moon is the only one who actually reads this)

Hooray for slippers! They look super-duper comfy. How did you like working with the Mission Falls Cotton? I bought some in a fit of oh-no-it's-being-discontinued-must-get-some-now (did you know the 1824 wool is also being discontinued? No more Mission Falls, period) and I haven't had a chance to do anything with it yet. I loved all the fun colours it came in.
Like I said before, I'm only really knitting for family this year. I also have very little mental energy left for project planning and looking-for-the-perfect-yarn (though that hasn't stopped me from *buying* yarn, apparently). Plus the darned sweater is taking up a LOT of knitting time. So don't feel bad, you're not horrible at all! =)
What?! They're discontinuing Mission Falls?!!! Oh no!! I really liked working with their wool. I might have to go and get some just because. They make really good wrist warmers. As for the cotton, I quite like it too. It's not as much fun as the wool because it doesn't have the same spring to it (don't know if you know what I mean when I say that), but I really like the texture of things that are knitted up with it.
I'm not even knitting for my family this year. I have pretty much zero energy left for it. I'm just working on little projects for myself right now just for stress relief and 'instant gratification'. But I'm so slow, that it's not even really all that instant either! Ha ha!!!
