Wow, it's been a while since anyone has posted! Probably because we are both too busy working on secret Christmas presents and such. =) Anyway, I started a little something for myself on election night, mostly to calm my nerves and give me something to do other than stare at the TV and will the numbers to go the other way. I'm only showing a closeup because I've already knit up one of these things as a gift, and I don't want to give anything away. But I think you can see how the Cherry Tree Hill glitter alpaca knits up, it's very pretty. Can you see the bits of gold glitter?
The only annoying thing about this yarn is that it turned my hands and needles blue. Most of the blue on the needles came off with a little wipedown. My other needles are still red. Sometimes I wish I could knit with metal needles so I wouldn't have this staining problem. Or, that I weren't so anal about these things.

Hee hee..I totally know what you mean about not being able to show all my Christmas goodies. During my train ride, I managed to finish another mystery project ^_^
I totally love that Cherry Tree Hill glitter alpaca. Now I totally want some too! But I am surprised that the dye didn't hold to it that well. I don't know if it's any consolation, but my green stained bamboo needles actually became un-stained after I kep using them. Hopefully, that'll happen to your needles too.
Oh, I hope my red needles get unstained with more use! It really bugs me when I look at them. I haven't used them for any projects since the scarf.
If you can't find the glitter alpaca in a LYS, you might try eBay. I believe I saw some for about $12 a skein (US dollars), which is a bit cheaper than I got mine for.
